Even though the Ross Revenge is no longer used for truly offshore broadcasting, she still holds a place in many radio enthusiasts’ hearts. Therefore Radio Souvenirs are pleased to offer two excellent videos devoted to the Ross Revenge.
THE ROSS REVENGE DVD – PART ONE
A 45 minute long colour production featuring two home videos made by ‘Coconut’ in 1988 and 1989. This DVD shows the Dutch and English service studios, the record library, the mega insulator, the new towers, the newsroom. And of course, many of the staff from both Caroline and Radio 819, including Walter Simons, Ad Roberts, Nick Jackson, Ian Mac, Judy Murphy, Neil Armstrong and many more. The cost of this PAL DVD is just £6.00 including UK postage and packing.
THE ROSS REVENGE DVD – PART TWO
Most of this video was filmed in late August 1991, when Mike Kerslake and Nick Jackson made a return visit to the radio ship upon which they had worked a couple of years before. On it you can see the ship’s crew, the studios and the transmitter room as they were at the time. Also included on this video is an interview with Neil Gates, plus you can also see Mike ‘Coconut’ Dixon take a walk around the stern of the Ross Revenge. There is much more to see on this 50 minute high quality production. As a special bonus we are including some rare film of the Tongue Sands Naval Fort in the Thames Estuary The cost of this PAL DVD is just £6.00 including UK postage and packing.
THE VOICE OF PEACE
To commemorate the twenty years of broadcasting from the MV Peace, Radio Souvenirs are pleased to offer two collectable items featuring the Voice Of Peace radio station. The Voice Of Peace closed in October 1993, and the ship was sunk a short time later. Therefore, these two souvenirs record, in both aural and visual form, a truly unique radio station.
THE VOICE OF PEACE- THE EIGHTIES ALBUM
A very collectable vinyl album about the radio station which for so long was broadcasting “From somewhere in the Mediterranean.” This LP covers a whole decade of the station’s life, using jingles, airchecks, promotions, adverts and recordings of special broadcasts. Amongst the many deejays featured on this LP are Crispian St.John, Neil Armstrong, Ian Mac, Rob Scott, Kas Collins, Johnny Lewis, Coconut and Kenny Page. This limited edition LP comes complete with a full colour sleeve and a glossy large format photo-illustrated booklet. Here’s just a few of the comments made about the LP by the experts:
“The LP gives a good insight and taste of the station and forms an ideal companion to the video”
…………..Offshore Echo’s Magazine
“I now have an instant flavour of the station…a good job in balancing all the bits and pieces…for the money I think it’s well worth it, certainly one for the collection”
…………Steve Taplin, CM Bulletin.
This excellent LP is now available from both Radio Caroline and Geoff Baldwin’s Radio Review.
THE VOICE OF PEACE- THE DVD
This 54 minute video production gives an unique insight into life on board the MV Peace. See for yourself ‘The Voice Of Peace’ radio station, meet the deejays and the crew, and take a look at the transmitters, generators and even come along on a trip into port to refuel!
